What Is Involved
Starting a build project may seem daunting at first, but rest assured we are with you all the way and will manage the whole process to ensure a smooth and hassle-free delivery. We are safety conscious throughout the build, taking all the necessary health and safety precautions necessary to ensure everyone is safe and each project is managed conscientiously.
Green credentials– We are ethical and responsible builders and are sympathetic to the environment, seeking to minimalise any disruption, mess or environmental impact. Because we are Eco-friendly, we source only from ethically sustainable supplies where possible using the highest quality materials and components. For example, our Red Cedar is not only beautiful and durable, it comes from a certified sustainable source. We also dispose of any waste/spoils or existing structures to recycling.
CONSULTATION AND DESIGN
We undertake a site survey and that will tell us what needs to be done, any levelling or access issues to address, which will be allowed for in our quote. At this stage we can discuss what need to be moved, levelled off etc. We can remove pre-existing structures and bases if required.
QUOTATION AND ORDER
We work with you to make sure we have understood your requirements and we will suggest options to meet your expectations. Our pricing is realistic. We may not be the cheapest you can find, but that is because we pride ourselves on top quality materials, superior design, attention to detail and workmanship. Our garden rooms are beautiful and are built to last and we believe the devil is in the detail.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION
We will discuss timescales with you and keep you informed of progress. We can manage everything from insulation, heating and air conditioning, through to all the electrics, broadband/Wi-Fi and lighting.
Additional landscaping can be incorporated for the finishing touches.
FACTORS TO CONSIDER
Whether you are having a new summerhouse, extending your outside living space, garden office or creating a therapy room or workshop, there are some practical requirements that you need to be aware of. We will work with you every step of the way, with detailed planning and open and honest communications, so you can be confident the whole process will be seamless.
PLANNING PERMISSION
Rules governing outbuildings apply to sheds, playhouses, and garages as well as other additional garden buildings such as sauna cabins, garden rooms, and many other kinds of structure, if they are designed to for a purpose that is ‘incidental to the enjoyment of the dwellinghouse’. Outbuildings are considered to be permitted development, so they do not need planning permission, subject to certain conditions. They mustn’t be placed on raised platforms, nor include verandas or balconies without permission. This is an area where we can provide some guidance, but this website will tell you more.
ACCESS AND INSTALLATION
Unlike many other building companies, we will lay the foundations and undertake all groundwork preparations for you. We will also look at orientation, flooding potential and access during the design process. Onsite we will advise of any access requirements and will take into consideration slopes, steps and gate widths.
SITING
We will advise on the optimum orientation and situation for your garden building. If you want a party room or guest space, it makes sense to have that closer to the house. For garden retreats and music rooms, we may suggest a slightly different location away from the house. We will choose the position that makes the most of natural light, and to ensure you can enjoy best views from your garden room.
